20th Annual Rocky Mountain Jamboree ATV & SxS Trail Ride Review

20th Annual Rocky Mountain Jamboree ATV & SxS Trail Ride Review
::Continued::

Once the ride was under way our guide and local photographer, Rasmussen, took a break to educate some of the riders about the finer points of photography. This was a great chance for novice photographers to ask questions and learn about white balance, shutter speeds, tri-pods and more. He also touched on how important the use of a polarizer is when shooting fall foliage.

Although the trees were not yet in their peak, the various color on the Maple , Choke Cherry, Snowberry, & Juniper Trees were breathtaking

“With so much beautiful scenery and so many colors in the trees learning a bit about your camera can really improve you shots,” regarded Rasmussen of his quick teaching session

Soon after the photo talk our group of ten riders was off and rolling. We cruised down the trails between 15 and 20 miles per hour.  We passed through beautiful Aspen groves; we had the chance to see and take pictures of the changing colors on the Maple trees, the Choke Cherry trees, the Snowberry and Juniper trees. The colors were just beginning to change on the trees we viewed various patches of fall foliage and vibrant greens.  The peak fall foliage for the area falls in the last few days of September and the first few days of October each year.

Mid way though our ride we took a lunch break in the shade near a colony of Aspen trees. The lunch was not only enjoyable for the turkey sandwich but also the camaraderie between all the riders. Everyone was very friendly and made the trip even more pleasant.

Rocky Mountain Jamboree ATV & SxS Trail Rid
On our ride we rode from 8,600 feet to 9,000 feet above sea level which gave us an awesome view of the surrounding landscape

The ride continued as we made a loop through the trails of Gooseberry. Our elevation ranged from 8,631 feet to over 9,000 feet. The scenery made for an exciting ride as did the hope that we would come across some of the wildlife that frequents the area. We did get a glimpse of an elk, but mule deer and many other creatures call the Great Western and Paiute trail system home.
