Sedona,
Arizona ATV & SxS Desert Riding Adventure
::Continued::
Two miles off of 89 A that runs through up-town
Sedona is Van Deren Cabin / Vultree Arch Road. This
trail is wider than the Soldiers Pass and is easy
to navigate. There are many attractions to be seen
on this trail including a cabin dating back to the
1920’s, Vultree Arch, and the Devil’s
Bridge. Just like the Devil’s Kitchen, the
Devil’s Bridge is not for the faint-of-heart!

Devil's Bridge
hiking trail was a rugged trail, but well
worth the hike once you arrive at the
Devil's Bridge
|
Although not accessible by ATV or Side-by-Sides
there is a hiking trail that is around a mile and
a half hike to the base of the Devil’s Bridge.
From there it is an almost vertical climb to the
top. There is however a natural set of stair steps
that people have created over the years to make
the climb a bit easier. We were pretty impressed
to see several children under the age of 10 that
conquered the hike and the climb up to the Devil’s
Bridge. Once you have reached the bridge it appears
intimidating, to walk cross, but once you are out
there, it isn’t as scary as it is from a far;
that is if you didn’t look down! In my option,
the Devil’s Bridge is a must see for anyone
that visits Sedona. Unfortunately we did not have
time to check out Van Deren Cabin and Vultree Arch.
There is so much to take in and explore while
riding in Sedona that it all cannot be done in
just one day! There are also several other trails
that you can access by road including the Sedona
West and Ruins Area.

After a long day of exploring Sedona on our Arctic
Cat TRV Utility ATV and Tom Car SxS we made our
way back into town as sun began to hide itself
behind the many rock formations. Once we arrived
back at the Sedona Off-Road Center we swapped
what seemed like endless stories of our travels
in the Arctic Cat, and Tom Car, with shop owner
Mark Ranges.

Unfortunately,
we didn't make it to the Vultree Arch before
the sun began to set after a full day of
riding |
After the sun fully set behind the mountains,
you could see uptown Sedona gleam with lights
from local store’s and restaurants. After
we got cleaned up, we asked some of the locals
what would be a great place to refuel with food
after our day riding. The number one suggestion
by the locals was the Cowboy Club. The Cowboy
Club has a long history in Sedona and offers up
some great food. The Cowboy Club was the hotspot
in the 1950’s and 1960’s for movie
stars like John Wayne, Burt Lancaster, Robert
Micheum, and even Elvis Presley when he was filming
“Stay Away Joe”.
We celebrated our great day of riding and exploring
Sedona by ordering the Buffalo Tenderloin and
Baby Back Ribs. The Buffalo Tenderloin was the
most tender steak I have ever had and the meat
on the ribs literally fell off the bones. Eating
at the Cowboy Club was a great way wrap up or
day of riding as we headed in to get some much
needed rest in Armana Resort’s comfortable
beds.
With Sedona’s great views, scenic trails,
and almost perfect weather year around it is a
destination for any Off-Road enthusiast’s
bucket list. We highly suggest giving yourself
a couple days to explore the area as there is
plenty to keep you entertained!
