Yamaha's Brandon Sommers Leads AMA Haresramble Points Race
Round 4 - ATV Race Report

When the flag dropped the battle began and the fight would be on between Chris Borich and Brandon Sommers.

Chris Borich - Suzuki LTR450 ATV
Suzuki's battled for the Holeshot with #2 Chris Borich coming around turn one in 2nd place behind #13, but it would be long before he was in a battle for the lead with Yamaha's Brandon Sommers

The 12 mile course would consist of everything you could imagine from small rock sections mixed with tight technical terrain to large up-hills and off camber sections. There were even some wide open field sections and 2 creek jumps. The staff at Miles mountain made sure every rider was warned of the obstacles they would face and many of the riders agreed that this was a top notch event.

#784 Houser Racing's Brandon Sommers finished in the runners-up spot, but maintains a dominate points lead

Jarrod McClure AMA Hare Scrambles Sommers ATV

XC Bob's Jarrod McClure claimed the 3rd spot

The conditions would make fresh gloves and clean goggles a necessity as the mud was quick to make grips slippery and muck up goggles. The race continued between Borich and Sommers as the two battled it out with Borich taking the win and Sommers taking 2nd. Sommers, however, would hold his lead on the series points. Taking 3rd would be ATVriders own Jarrod McClure with Jeffrey Pickens finishing in 4th.

Many other top GNCC riders would make a big showing such as Senior A rider Dave Simmons took first in the A class. John Gallagher Sr. would take the 50+ class and extend his class points leading total.

Round # 5 of the AMA ATV Hare Scramble National Championship Series will be at Beaten Trails in Newark Valley, NY on July 18th.
