Clay Holmes is another first year pro that has
been on top of his game. Holmes’s consistent
9-8 finishes earned him 7th overall for the day,
while Josh Upperman finished in the number eight
spot.

Can-Am Motoworks’ Brandon Smith made his
first appearance in the top ten this season taking
ninth place overall. “I felt good out there
and I hope to keep improving my finishes,”
said Smith.
Doug Gust encountered some issues this weekend,
but managed to hang on to finish in the top ten.
“I had a rock get stuck in my front brakes
in moto one, and in moto two, I got one stuck
in my rear brakes,” said the Suzuki Makita
RockStar veteran racer.

Pat Brown has yet to break the Top 10 this
year along with #708 Harold Goodman, but
don't count these top pros out just yet |
Pat Brown appeared to be getting used to his
new YFZ450R. Pat rode a consistent race to take
11th overall followed by Harold Goodman in 12th.
Can-Am Motoworks’ Jeremy Lawson, who took
the holeshot in moto two and led for three laps,
looked as if he could end up on the podium, but
an unexpected mechanical issue sidelined his moto
two charge. Can-Am Warnert Racing’s John
Natalie didn’t fair mush better than Lawson.
Natalie looked impressive, taking a 5th place
finish in moto one, but he also encountered mechanical
issues in moto two, which ended things early for
him.

John Natalie Jr was again was plagued with
bad luck after a strong 5th place finish
in Moto 1, he was sidelined in Moto 2, which
sent him back to 10th place in points |
The excitement keeps building as the points race
has tightened significantly and the competition
heats up as we head into round four of the 2009
AMA ATV Motocross Championship series as it heads
to Danville, VA on April 18-19 where Birch Creek
will play host to the event.
