Armagh,
PA (7/19/2009) –
Round number nine of the AMA ATV Motocross
Championship proved to be the most exciting race
of the season so far, with an intense battle to
the end that allowed Suzuki Rockstar Makita’s
Dustin Wimmer to go 1-1 for the overall win while
teammate Doug Gust would take second on the podium.
Moto one proved to be a somewhat easy win for
Dustin Wimmer as he quickly took over the lead
from Doug Gust and held it all the way to the
checkered flag, but moto two would be a different
story. An all out battle to the end took place
as Wimmer, Honda’s Joe Byrd, Doug Gust and
Kawasaki Monster Energy’s Josh Creamer would
all be battling for the number one spot.
Wimmer and Byrd exchanged position for the lead
many times, but Wimmer would not be able to make
it stick until Josh Creamer became involved in
the chase for the lead in mid moto.

After
an incredible Moto 2 battle for the lead
finished with a thriller as Joe Byrd appeared
to have the win in the bag before Josh
Creamer locked wheels with Byrd, which
allowed Wimmer to make the pass followed
by Doug Gust to claim the top two spots
on the Podium, which made for one of the
most dramatic finishes of the season

As the battle raged on between the three racers,
Byrd and Creamer connected in the last lap, allowing
Wimmer to take over the lead just 100 yards before
the finish line. “It feels really great
to take another win and be back in the points
lead,” said Wimmer.

Suzuki's
Doug Gust grabbed the Moto One Holeshot
and held the lead for several laps before
Dustin Wimmer made the pass for the lead
followed by Joe Byrd, which left Gust
& Josh Creamer battling for 3rd spot
as they swapped back and forth with Gust
claiming the spot followed by Creamer
& Josh Upperman in 5th
