Championship Race Report

Bryce Ford was crowned the national champion
in 90 Shifter (12-15). Ford finished the year
with 189 points and five overall wins. Coming
in second by only eight points was Brandon O'Neill
with 181 points. O'Neill captured two overall
wins and multiple podium finishes. Tying in points
was Lance Walker and Trevor Thatcher with 163
each. After the tie breakers were determined,
Lance Walker was given third for the season.

90 Open Jr. has young riders ages eight to eleven
competing in it. This season, the number seven
of Max Lindquist rode hard to clinch the championship.
Lindquist dominated the class, taking seven overall
wins, before he jumped up to 90 Open Sr. at the
final round. Lindquist finished the year with
210 points. In second with 186 points was Zach
Decker who had a very consistent and strong year,
taking nine podium finishes, to accumulate 186
points. Finishing third was Aaron Salinas with
142 points.

90 Automatic Jr. is also composed of racers ages
eight to eleven. Tristan Evans grasped the national
championship in this class. The number 16 of Evans
took five overall wins throughout the year and
several more podium finishes to accumulate 200
total points. Brock Van Winkle put in an impressive
season to take second. Van Winkle finished with
176 points. In third was Dane Molander with 161
points.

In 70 Automatic (6-11), Cale Deal edged out Tristan
Evans for the national championship after taking
seven podium finishes. Deal finished the season
with 195 points, just four points above Evans
191. In third was Brock Van Winkle with 142 points.

The 50 Open class is made up of racers ages six
to eight years of age. Ramon Smikowsi is the new
national champion after he accumulated 180 points
this season. In second was Bodie Derrer with 150
points. Tying with 132 points for third was Kolton
Smittle and Noah Arnal, but after tie breakers,
Smittle was determined to earn third place with
Arnal in fourth.

The 2015 season may be over, but the youth racers
will be hard at work preparing for next season
when the AMA ATV Motocross National Championship
series returns. Some youth racers will be moving
up into the amateur classes and some new faces
will make their appearance in what is sure to
be another intense year of ATV racing.
