Conditions were near perfect with sunny skies
and temperatures in the mid 80’s when the
Pro’s took the line for the first moto and
just as in round nine, Kawasaki’s Josh Creamer
grabbed the holeshot.

Kawasaki
/ Monstery Energy's Josh Creamer grabbed
yet another first Moto Holeshot and within
a few laps, Creamer extended his lead to
8 seconds over Chad Wienen |
Into the first turn, Josh Upperman, Harold Goodman,
Doug Gust, Pat Brown, and Chad Wienen followed
Creamer closely, before Creamer began to put space
between him and the rest of the pack. While Creamer
continued to lay down the fastest lap times of
the race, Wienen began his charge to the front,
picking off Goodman and Upperman by the third
lap.
Meanwhile, Joe Byrd was making up time from his
8th place start and soon began to chase down Suzuki
racer Doug Gust for third place. Meanwhile, Dustin
Wimmer got off to a slow start and seemed to be
having some trouble. “I was dealing with
a bent tie rod in the first moto,” said
Dustin. “I knew where I had to finish in
order to secure the championship, so I road smart
and didn’t push it too hard.”

Baldwin's
Josh Upperman held the 2nd spot for several
laps before dropping back to 6th place in
the 4th lap, which is where he stayed till
the checkered flag |
Suzuki's
Chad Wienen charged his way up to the 2nd
spot by the 4th lap, but the following lap,
Creamer was sidelined, which gave Wienen
the lead |
Josh Creamer continued to increase his lead until
the 5th lap when he ran into problems. Josh had
just landed the 75 foot step-up jump when his
motor seized. “I’m just glad it happened
on the landing and not the take off!” said
Josh. With Creamer out of the running for moto
one, Chad Wienen took over the lead and started
to put some distance between him and Doug Gust,
who was now in 2nd and being pressured by Joe
Byrd. The battle between Gust and Byrd lasted
for about five laps before Byrd was able to get
around Gust and take over 2nd place. “Joe
and I have been racing together for so long, we
both knew what we needed to do, so it was a tough
battle,” said Gust.
Pat Brown had a pretty good start in moto one
and ran strong, holding off Josh Upperman and
Can-Am’s John Natalie for most of the race,
but Kawasaki’s Russell Shumaker didn’t
fair quite as well Brown did, as Shumaker crashed
early in the first moto. Luckily, the #68 Kawasaki
racer was uninjured and continued to race and
amazingly finished in the top 10.
