ATV Motocross Race Report
Continued - Amateur Classes
Travis Moore of McKenzie, Tennessee may have missed
the California round of this year’s MX Nationals
but that hasn’t stopped him from climbing to the
top of the overall standings in the 450 A class. Moore,
a Honda man of JPMX sponsorship, came off of round 1
in Alabama with an 8th place overall finish. After missing
the Southern California round at Glen Helen Raceway,
Moore put his ride together and roped a win in the class
in Texas during round 3, then repeated the performance
in Georgia. 1-1 moto scores will get you a win at any
given event, anytime, on any weekend. Moore beat out
the likes of Cody Gibson of TN, Rick Derring of GA and
Andrew Travis of PA to let the Georgia sands know that
they didn’t have what it took to stop him. After
the Echeconne round, Moore led the 450 A overalls with
73 points to Deering’s 66 points and Travis’
64 points. In the Pro/Am class, Moore scratched out
a 5-3 moto score record to finish 4th overall in the
class. In the overalls in the Pro/Am class Moore sat
in 7th place after just his third round of racing in
the series.

Team Suzuki/Cernic’s Racing’s and freestyle
ace, Caleb Moore, smoked the Production A class on his
yellow machine without even lighting a match. Moore,
a Krun, TX based racer and world wide known freestyle
ATV rider, proved he could not only do a back flip on
an ATV but could put a Georgia peanut full of sand in
the eye of any who challenged him in the Production
A class. Moore attacked the knee deep ruts everyone’s
become accustomed to at Echeconne Off-Road to amass
a 1-2 moto score over the weekend and take home the
class win. Following Moore in 2nd and 3rd for the round
were two more Suzuki mounted racers. Devin Heimes of
Zephyrhills, FL and Chris Bowen of Land O Lakes, FL
rounded out the top three in the class. Heimes went
3-1 for second overall while Bowen scored 2-3 for third
overall. At the end of four rounds of the MX Nationals
Nick Denoble of Denmark, WI held the overall lead in
the Production A class point’s standings with
92 points over Heimes in second with 90 points and Bowen
in third with 80 points.
