There was quite a battle in the Quad Expert class
and the time difference at the finish line came
down to just a matter of seconds with the #425
Yamaha Raptor, piloted by Paul Engen, Dustin Tanguay
and Greg Ochoa taking the win with a time of 6:48:48.
“We were really moving out there, and did
the best we could. We had some issues, the quad
caught on fire in the pits and we had an oil leak,
but we made it,” said Engen, with a sigh
of relief.

The # 421 Quad Expert team, of brothers Michael Zelenka and John Zelenka, from New Jersey, and Adam Barnes from Phoenix, AZ claimed a close second place with a time of 6:49:08, just twenty seconds behind the leaders.

“I could have come in about five minutes faster, but our quad was starting to overheat and I didn’t want to fry the engine, so we just took it easy and made it to the finish,” said Mike Zelenka.

The #415 team of Gilbert Davila and Quinn Harrison claimed third in the Quad expert class, fourteen minutes off of first and second places.
Round number six of the 2014 BITD series will head to Las Vegas on August 14-16 for the legendary Vegas to Reno run.
