- SxS Race Report
::Continued::
The number 1934 Coastal Racing Polaris RZR of
RJ Anderson, who was filling in for Scott Kiger,
was looking fast and smooth as he charged his
way through the desert. Anderson was running a
fast time and was just seconds off of the lead
in lap two. Anderson was charging hard and was
in contention for the win with his time when he
suffered a punctured rear tire, which slowed his
efforts. Despite the puncture, Anderson stayed
on the gas and finished in a strong second with
a time of 7:31:22.984.

Ryan Poelman, who was in the #1962 Supercross.com
Polaris RZR, put in a strong effort as well. Poelman
stayed on the gas and stayed close in time to
the leaders for the entire race. Poelman, who
was also impressive at the Parker 250, was able
to finish the race in an impressive third place
in the 1900 class.

Jagged X Racing’s Brandon Schueler was also a
contender for the BITD Mint 400 win and was running
close to the leaders in time as well. Schueler,
who started around 30th, stayed the course and
put his #1919 Jagged X Polaris RZR in the number
four spot at the finish line with a time of 7:37:09.105.
“We had a flawless day. We basically just put
fuel in the car and that was it. The course was
rough with lots of rocks. There was a lot of carnage
and broke down cars out there so we were glad
to finish. I think the longer course gave us an
advantage due to attrition,” said Schueler.

Justin Lambert in the # 1918 Cognito Motorsports
RZR had a few issues early in the race but they
were able to round out the top five in the 1900
class. “We started out in ninth but we had a couple
of flat tires in the first lap and then again
in the third lap, but we pulled it together and
were fighting for third place, but at the 100
mile mark in the final lap, there was a huge log
in the track and tried to straddle it at about
50MPH and it snapped my radius rod. We thought
we were dragging the log, but we were broke, so
we limped it in to the pit and fixed it and made
it to the finish line,” said Lambert.

The number 1988 Kicker / Lonestar Racing / Polaris
RZR of Wes Miller made his BITD SXS racing debut,
and started on the 25th row and immediately started
gaining time, but blew a belt in one of the lake
beds. “It was pretty sketchy having to be in the
dust changing a belt with trucks and UTV’s zipping
by us at like 100MPH,” said Miller.

After fixing their belt, Miller and his co-pilot
David Lazovsky kept a steady pace and continued
to gain positions. “There were a bunch of slower
guys in front of us after we got back out there
and we just started picking them off,” said Miller,
who ended up with a sixth place finish.
