CT Racing’s Cody Mitchell scored his second consecutive runner-up finish and unofficially takes the points lead going into the Vegas to Reno, which is the third round of the four race season.

“The course was really fast,” said Mitchell. “There is really only one section of whoops, so it was hard to make up time. This should put us in the points lead, which is a first for me. Hopefully we can keep it going.”

Polaris’ Don Higbee unofficially moves to second in points. He said he is going for broke at the next BITD race.

“This might even put us second in points so we’ll come out swinging at Vegas to Reno,” said Higbee. “That’s where we’re putting all of our resources. Our Polaris Scrambler 1000 was great. We have over 8,000 race miles on this one, so we’re going to build a new one for the next race.”

Steven Carver - BITD UTV World Championship
#401 Steven Carver & Scott Plunkett won the Quad Expert Class

In the Quad Expert Class, Steven Carver teamed with Scott Plunkett to win the race, ahead of Mark May and Charles Borges. “It was super dusty once we got into the desert section,” said Plunkett. “We came out on top, so it was a good day.”

The next BITD ATV race, the Vegas to Reno, is the series longest race and is scheduled for August 17-20.
