Best in the Desert Racing - BITD Series

BITD Vegas to Reno UTV Race Report
::Continued::

Guthrie Jr started 35th and drove his way to fifth to put himself back into the points race. Guthrie Jr won the first two races of the year, but a DNF at the last race put him well back in the standings. With three races left and one of the most competitive desert racing fields in UTV racing history, he will have to be at the top of his game if he hopes to win the title this year

“That DNF is our throwaway race, so we have to focus on getting good finishes,” said Guthrie. “We had a good day overall. We only had one issue that set us back 15 minutes and that’s what let a lot of people by us. Other than that, we had a good day. My pit crew was awesome and my whole family got us to the finish. That’s what really counts.”

In Pro Production, Kristen Matlock earned her first BITD victory by nearly an hour over second place, leading more than 30 other cars to the finish. Matlock drove every mile of the race and was happy to be a bridesmaid no longer.

I tried really hard for this one today and pulled it off. I iron womaned again. I’ve iron womaned every race I’ve done. There were 31 guys in my class so I’m pretty proud.”
