Batavia, NY (8/31/2013) - Batavia, NY The season finale of the 2013 Extreme Dirt Track ATV series was held at the Batavia Motor Speedway in Batavia, NY on the weekend of August 24th. The weekend featured a double head where all of the marbles were on the line as points championships would play out over the two-day stretch. Warm and breezy conditions presented the racers with dry and dusty track conditions which proved to be the breaking point for some racers.

The Pro ATV racing action, along with the Pro-Am class were the two to watch as Brad Riley had already put one of the final nails in the the Pro-Am unlimited class championship proverbial coffin heading into the weekend with a solid points lead. The points chase in the Pro and Pro-Am classes however were not a certainty for either Harold Goodman or Brad Riley, the two racers who were neck and neck for points.

Two Se7en Motorsports / Fireball’s #27 Brad Riley was the man to beat in the Pro class on Friday evening after a very long day. The Pro main kicked off late into the evening, but Riley showed no signs of being tired as he tore off the line to get a frontal viewing of the holeshot sliding out in fourth place. From here, Riley began to work on Brian Ace and Nathan Wolff who were both in front of him.

Riley made a pass early on to get around Ace and then set his sights on passing Wolff, who he then passed only a few laps later. Now the real question; would Riley be able to find his way around The Bumblebee, Harold Goodman? Riley answered this question with a decisive pass which happened late in the race but left Riley with the main event win and within striking distance of the points battled heading into the 8th and final round on Saturday.

“We had a lot of fun, I mean a lot of fun racing tonight! It was by no means easy to get around Ace and Wolff and then finally Goodman but I was able to find some different lines and make ‘em work as we battled through those twenty laps. The track was really slick once you got off the blue groove we created but my DASA engine and Maxxis tires were a great combo for this high speed and technical track. I’m super pumped with the win tonight and I’m hoping to carry this momentum into tomorrow for the big show!”, said Riley

Honda East Toledo / RAGE ATV / Houser’s Harold Goodman was on fire as well in the Pro class getting the early jump off the line and securing the holeshot just ahead of a hard charging Wolff Motorsport’s Nathan Wolff who stayed with Goodman for the majority of the race. Goodman then put his head down and tired to gain time on Riley who was stuck back in 4th place for a few laps. Even though Goodman was able to edge out a bit of a lead, he eventually succumbed to Riley’s pressure toward the latter part of the twenty-lapper event and finished with a solid second place, securing enough points to keep himself in proper contention for a 3rd straight Pro class championship.

“My RAGE powered Honda and Hoosier tires were both doing their work tonight on the slick track. There was so much dust coming up out of the ground and everyone had to deal with it and I’m thankful I was able to get off to a great holeshot to lead the pack for the first bit. Riley was able to get around me but we had a great battle and we both stayed clean until the end. I’m sitting pretty good, not where I’d like to be, in the points battle and tomorrow night will be a bit of a nail biter, that’s for sure!,” said Goodman, anticipating Saturday’s Pro main event.
