Cole Richardson Takes First
AA Class FTR Racing ATV Win
Brighton, FL (2/2/2015) – The
FTR / Florida Trail Rider’s round ten, put
on by the Treasure Coast Showdown, saw a huge
turnout in the ATV AA class with many GNCC ATV
racers in attendance, but it was Yamaha's Cole
Richardson who came out on top and took the win
with Landon Wolfe in second and Gus Rickman in
third.
Conditions were good for round ten of the Florida
Trail Riders series. There was a little dust at
the beginning of the race, but it settled down
after the first lap of the ATV race. There were
some jumps and good trails, mud and even a dry
lagoon jump thrown into the course. There were
six GNCC Pro and Pro-Am racers that were on hand
to get in some seat time, including Walker Fowler,
Adam McGill, Johnny Gallagher, Cole Richardson,
Josh Merritt, and Landon Wolfe.

There were a total of 14 AA racers on the FTR
racing starting line, but it was Cole Richardson
who grabbed the holeshot. “My Yamaha fired
right up, and I got the lead early,” said
Richardson.

Richardson led for a short time before letting Adam McGill get by. “We were in a field section and my front end was acting a little funny so I let Adam (McGill) by and followed him a bit,” said Richardson.

issues, which openened the door for Richardson
to take his first ever FTR Racing AA class
win |
Richardson stayed within about 30 seconds off of McGill and in the final lap he was able to take back the lead when McGill encountered issues. Once back out front, Richardson held the lead and took the win. “He was on the side of the track just putting and trying to get to the finish so I got by him and took the win. My Yamaha was awesome out there and my Motowoz shocks worked great. We have a little fine tuning to do but it helped get me my first FTR win,” said Richardson.
Landon Wolfe also had a good race and had a good start in the number four spot. Wolfe pushed hard and quickly made his way past Johnny Gallagher for third.

Wolfe dropped back a bit when Walker Fowler made a pass but mechanical issues suffered by McGill and Fowler put him in the number two spot at the finish line. “I had a good start; I was fourth going into the first turn and passed Gallagher in the second turn. Walker Fowler got by me but he ended up having issues and so did McGill so I ended up with second overall. Lap traffic was a bit of an issue later in the race but overall I am pretty happy with my finish,” said Wolfe.
