Alba's
Ryan Lane finished out the year in 11th
Overall as a Pro Rookie
|
For Ryan Lane, wow, what a year! This kid comes
out of nowhere and puts in consistent top 5
and top 10 finishes all year long! Lane, like
Cook, rides as a privateer and should have no
problem securing some serious support as he
prepares for 2009. Looking at the veteran Matt
Smiley, the war horse rode a solid season as
he proved yet again that he has what it takes
to battle all comers and even after a pretty
severe injury to his thumb, showed he has the
fortitude to press on. I sure hope we see a
2009 season with Smiley involved, he is one
great representative of our sport.

#783 Johnny
Gallagher had a season of ups and downs
as he finished out the year with a 12th
Overall, which is his best year since
2003 when he finished 11th Overall
|
Yamaha
Pro ATV Motocross Racer, Pat Brown, raced
a few rounds of GNCC and finished out
the final 2 rounds in the top 25 Overall |
This round would also see GNCC XC1 Bike racer
David Knight competing on a KTM ATV in the XC1
pro class! Knight’s talent and skill aboard
a bike are unmatched, and with his winning of
the championship, Knight would be racing amongst
the fastest XC ATV racers on the planet. Damage
to Knights ATV told the story of a few encounters
with trees, and his pit board read “Stick
to 2 wheels”, but the man finished the
event and we hope he had a great time! As our
sport continues to grow, it is excellent to
see others throwing a leg over a quad and giving
it a go!

2008 XC1
Pro Bike Champion, David Knight, tested
the waters on 4 wheels at the Ironman
in the Pro ATV XC1 Class on a KTM 525XC,
and KTM's Adam McGill gave Knight a
few pointers before the race.
