Yamaha's
#7 Walker Fowler continues to dominate
the XC2 Pro-Am Class with his 8th straight
Win of the season |
In the Pro-am Class, Yamaha/Ballance Racing’s
Walker Fowler continued to dominate his class,
taking the Pro-am win, his eighth straight win
of the season and finishing in the sixth place
overall. Fowler came off the start in the top
ten and began picking off the competition immediately,
taking the lead shortly before the end of the
first lap. Fowler had a good lead, but in the
third lap, Fowler ran into a bit of bad luck.
“I hit a stump and went flying off my
quad. I really have to give a big thanks to
Jeff Pickens, He stopped and helped me to get
my quad up the hill after that. If it weren’t
for him I would probably still be sitting out
there,” said Fowler, who was still leading
despite his ordeal. Fowler held his lead all
the way to the checkered flag, continuing his
winning streak and extending his points lead.
“I have to thank all of my sponsors, Yamaha,
Balance Racing, Moto-Xperts, Maxxis and everyone
else for all of their support and helping this
be such a successful season for me so far. I’m
going to take a little time off over the break,
but I plan to come back and keep winning,”
said Fowler.
Eric Hoyland, who was leading going into the
first lap, fell to second once Fowler made the
pass, but held his position, taking second in
his class, while Michael Lancaster put in a
solid performance to round out the top three
in the Pro-am class.
