In the XC2 Pro-am class, Gabe Phillips did
not get the start he wanted, and was in 16th
place at the end of the first lap, but he
put the hammer down and charged his way into
fourth place by the next lap. In lap fourth,
Phillips took over the lead and pulled away
to take the Pro-am win by over a minute ahead
of second place.

Braden Henthorn was also towards the back
at the end of the first lap and charged his
way into third by the second lap. Henthorn
then took over second place in lap four and
held it all the way to the checkered flag.
Matt Hanna was rounding out the top ten at
the end of the first lap and kept moving forward.
Hanna made steady progress and reached the
number three spot before crossing the finish
line.

In the morning classes, Super Senior class
racer, Dave Simmons, topped the podium again,
giving him his fourth overall win of the season
in the morning classes.
4x4 Open racer, Bryan Buckhannon claimed
his class win and joined Simmons on the podium
in second, while Angel Atwell took the Women’s
class win and the third spot on the podium.
Cliff Beasley remained undefeated in the
U2 class with his sixth win of the season.
In the 4x4 Lites class, Kyle Golding broke
the winning streak of Kevin Trantham as Golding
took the class win after Trantham encountered
mechanical issues early in the race.
Round number seven of the 2012 GNCC series
will head to Masontown, WV on May 26th for
the Mountaineer Run.
