Yamaha's Kylie Ahart Wins Big
Buck WXC Class

In the Women’s class, Kylie Ahart took her first
win of the season. “I got out front early after
passing Angel Knox and just kind of rode my own
race and stayed focused. I made the switch to
Yamaha this year, so it felt really good to take
the first win on a new quad,” said Ahart.

Women’s points leader, Alicia McCormick, stayed
close to Ahart in second the entire race and claimed
a second place finish. “This is my fourth podium
this season in my class and I am pumped. It was
a good race, a good track and I had a good day.
I really couldn’t be happier and I am happy that
my hard work is paying off,” said McCormick.

Tori Fryer came from a midpack start and claimed
a third place finish in the WXC class while Traci
Pickens finished in fourth followed by Kara Merritt.
Angel Knox had grabbed the holeshot, but fell
back to third and eventually encountered issues
and was unable to finish the race.

Dave Simmons continued his domination of the
Super Senior class and claimed his fourth straight
win of the season. Simmons led from start to finish
and claimed the win by over eight minutes ahead
of his class.

In the 4x4 Senior class, Forrest Whorton claimed
his second win of the season. Whorton grabbed
the holeshot but fell back to third place in the
first lap. “I just let that be for a while and
rode a couple of laps before I made a move and
took back the lead. It felt great to get another
win and now I am tied for the points lead so I
am pretty happy,” said Whorton.

Michael Shelley, who led for a while in the third
lap, could not hold off Whorton and claimed a
second place finish, while Don Higbee charged
his way to a third place finish in the 4x4 Senior
class.

Round five of the 2015 GNCC series heads to
Springville, IN on April 25th for the Limestone
100, where the points battled will be heating
up.
