Palatka, FL (3/6/2016) - Can-am’s
Cody Miller survived a carnage-filled race to win
his first GNCC SxS XC1 Pro race during the Wild
Boar 2016 GNCC Racing season opener. Cody Miller
inherited the lead on the final lap and drove his
Can-Am to victory. Bikeman / rOtation Motorsports
Jason Luburgh finished second, ahead of Jamie McCoy,

Weather was picture perfect for racing with temperatures
in the high 70s all weekend and party sunny skies
over central Florida. With 87 entries and a tight
course filled with sugar sand, mud holes and water,
carnage was certain to ensue…and it did.
|
#1 Kyle Chaney
& #4 Tim Farr held the top two spots
early on in the front row, but they both
suffered issues & they weren't alone
with only 17 of the 87 SxS entries completing
all 5 laps
|
The battle of attrition came down to the final
lap. Defending champion Kyle Chaney took the lead
at the start and was dominating up front. However,
with just a half mile left, Chaney got stuck in
a bottleneck and broke a tierod attempting to
get out fell back. John Yokley briefly took the
lead, but also fell out with a mechanical issue.
Miller was in just the right place as he inherited
the lead and went on to win. Interestingly, the
former Pro ATV Motocross racer finished fourth
in the 4X4 ATV race earlier in the day.

Houser Racing's
Cody Miller grabbed the holeshot on his
row & he held the third spot with
adjusted time after the first lap
|
“I’m ecstatic,” said Miller. “We’ve been doing
this side by side racing since 2012. We are making
a big push this year to come out to GNCC. We’ve
done well in all of the other series in which
we’ve competed. We knew we had a good car here
with the Can-Am Maverick. We did a lot of work
this offseason and it paid off. We’re pumped”.
|
With the
machines covered in mud & Chaney having
issues on the last lap, Cody Miller nearly
didn't get the checkered flag before going
out for another lap
|
“My Can-Am Maverick was running strong,” added
Miller. “I got the holeshot out there with the
Evolution Programmer and the HMF exhaust. The
new Houser products we helped developed are working
great. We have the center of gravity lowered down.
The Maxxis Tires and DWT Wheels really got us
through the mud. The Elka shocks were just floating
over the rough stuff; I never let up. S3 hooked
us up with some A-arms this year.”
