The 2007 season opener hit the shores of Vero Beach,
FL in an area that had been with out a real rain for
pretty much as long as the locals could remember. But
with that in mind, some how the course still managed
to have a serious mud hole or two. Either way I know
it beat the heck out of the cold and snow that many
left to come south and try their hand in a series that
has the top racers from around the country have been
gearing up for that last four months. With riders graduating
into new classes, and the advent of a few new classes
it was time to see who was ready to start off the season
with the big 20 point hit to take the points lead before
                          going to Georgia.

 "The Triton" - Round One

 | By: RaceDayPix | Needless to say there were a few young ladies that
wanted to get into the number one spot on the women’s
podium instead of Traci Cecco. Neither Angel Atwell
nor Stephanie Parton had a good enough day to complete
the task but a hard charging Jennifer Albright managed
to work her way from the fourth position all the way
into the number two spot for one of her best finishes
ever in the GNCC series. The third place finisher
in the class went to Lexie Coulter, while Traci Cecco
managed to once again finish in the number one position.
All three of the class winners were riding on Yamahas.

Lexie Coulter | There was an added class for women this year for
Novice Women riders. These riders fought hard and
changed positions all over the during the race, but
on the final lap Florida rider Kim Wagner took the
victory after dropping back to third for a few laps.
Jessica Shardon took second after she too slid back
and held the number three spot for a lap. Kristen
Miller ended up in the third position after she had
held the lead for 2 laps. After a trial of the Youth
Production class last year, it became official this
year. Previous Junior Quad champion Walker Fowler
had made the decision to bypass his last year of eligibility
in the Juniors for the 2007 season and move to the
larger quads. This year two of the ATVA-MX class winners
wished to try their hands in the woods series. Neal
McGrath was able to keep Fowler in his sights for
a lap or two but dropped back over the course of the
race and finished three minutes behind Walker at the
checkers. Jeffrey Rastrelli was charging hard but
also fell short and ended in the third spot.

Terry Arick | Super Senior +50 riders had Terry Arick on his Suzuki
take the win and finish ahead of Mike Ockerman. John
Gallagher managed to bring his Polaris across the
line for the third spot with his new KTM powered 525
Polaris. In the Sport class Bob Ousley held the lead
for three laps and did not manage to finish the fourth
lap of the race. Scott Thompson on the other hand
did finish the race and he slipped into the number
one spot on the final of the race. Dan McConaughey
rode his Kymco just fast enough to beat the third
                            place finisher Josh Headen.
