CanAm GNCC Morning ATV Race Report - Page Two

#237 Clifton Beasley
In the new 4x4 Lites Clifton Beasley went start to finish in the lead while Jerime Dudding kept his bright yellow Can-AM ahead of David Reese who finished third. This “new” class did also see a pair of the new Kymco machines ridden by Ken Robey and Kevin Johnston that fell off the pace with every lap. The New 4x4 Limited class was won by Michael Swift followed by Mike Penland and then David Jessee. This class also got to see the former motorcycle champion Scott Summers ride one lap on a Honda quad finishing in the 6th position. In the 4x4 Open class Jesse West landed the top spot with the Cardio Stack team rider Jamie Bougher chasing hard from seventh and ending in the second position. Jacob Kirst came from fifth place to finish to finish in the third slot. Scott Kilby who had the early lead pulled out after two laps and finished in the ninth place. Another new class is the U2 class with the like of Broc Parker. Parker lead one lap of the race but pulled out ending his day in the thirteenth position. Michael Benson did keep on pace for the entire race and crossed the checkers in the number one position. Jonathan Bowers took the second spot and Danny Jessee was the third finisher for the day. The top three finishers in this class for the day were all riding on Kawasaki’s.

#234 Scott Norton
In the 16-19 C Class Joseph Ansbaugh lead the entire race from start to finish. Kurt Cantonwine and Jeff Sealig had a good little fight between the two of them switching positions quite a bit, but on the final lap Cantonwine made the pass stick and edged out Sealig to take second spot by only four seonds. Second Place Junior Quad racer from the 2006 season Cheyne Gravely chose to race in this class but ended up in the fourteenth position after falling short on getting a few of his last minute pieces needed to get his new ’07 Honda 450 ready to race. In the 20+ class Robert Cornwall held off the others in his class to take the win. Fred Marley snuck in past David Teeter and finished in second by only four seconds. Nick Sutton took the win in the 24+ C Class. Mike Stephens charged from 5th on the last lap to edge out Brandon Symmes for the number two spot for the day. Frank Storey hald off the others in his class to take the win in 30+ C while Michael Young snuck past Gary Blocker for the number two position. 36+ C Saw Jim Sheer go wire to wire in the number spot ahead of Chuck Dunn who charged hard to finish in the number two position. William Graham finished the day in third after riding there most of the day.

There will be many changes and many broken parts fixed over the next few days as all of the riders who will chase the series will get ready for round 2 in Georgia. It will be interesting to see the season as it progresses and who will be the dominant racers in each of their classes. See you in Georgia.
