With Florida behind us and only six days to recover
from the brutal sand whoops of Vero it is time to cover
consistency. Today’s racers all want a shot at winning
their class to land sponsorship deals and possibly factory
rides. Winning one week just won’t do it. You need
to win every week, or as close to it as possible.

Donald Ockerman Claims the ATVriders.com XC2 $100
Holeshot Award |

Ryan Lane edged out Ockerman for the runners-up
spot behind Brandon Sommers |
ATVriders.com XC2 Holeshot award went to none other
than Donald Ockerman who took charge and nabbed the
$100.00. After falling just short of Holeshot Brandon
Sommers was up to the task of back to back wins in round
1 and 2 in the XC2 Pro AM class. Brandon had a slim
lead for a lap and then slowly slipped away from a battle
that raged behind him between Donald Ockerman, Ryan
Lane and Kevin Yoho. These three riders were in a fight
that kept them seconds away from each other through
out the first four laps of the race. Unfortunately Kevin
Yoho ran into troubles on the fourth lap and fell out
of the hunt. Lane managed to move into the number two
spot and finish the race just ahead of Ockerman. In
the afternoon amateur ranks, there was only one other
racer that managed to pull off the back to back wins
and that was Jeff Miller in the Vet A division.

The
Senior Class had Cunningham, Wright, and Simmons
battling for the win with Cunningham wining the
battle, but Wright holds onto the points lead |
Before
the release of the KFX450R, Kawasaki's only other
high performance sport ATV was the Tecate 250,
which Mike Robinson raced in the 30+ B Class |
The AM race had a few class finishers that pulled off
the awesome task of the 1-1 finish so far this season
also. Traci Cecco of team Yamaha has taken her second
class win in as many races, but this time also managed
to grab the overall for the AM race at the same time.
Might I add she did it by three and a half minutes.
Behind Traci was Polaris rider Stephanie Parton and
Yamaha Rider Angel Atwell having a battle all of their
own. Stephanie rode the entire race in the number 2
spot while Angel was making her charge from falling
back over a minute. Angel made her last minute charge
and nabbed Parton during the fifth lap of the race to
finish in the number two spot by only two seconds.
