It was then on to the Can-Am BRP Mud bog. Clay and Rhonda Wylie organized these race sessions on Friday and Saturday as it would be the official first round for the Championship Mud Racing Series. Racers of all ages race in the CMR and at the High Lifter Mud Nationals the racers began a season of winning.

The Mud bog or straight line drag races through the muddy pit broke many rigs and in the final race of the day only four UTV’s showed up to do battle. We are not sure why there were only four Side by sides lining up to race but it was one short race to the finish line and we packed it up for the night.
Racing resumed on Saturday morning with the youth racers taking stage first and the Polaris Mudda-cross spinning racers in a circle but in really deep muddy mire. Many would walk away with cash prizes waiting on them and others piled up the broken parts and planned for the next round.

The 2013 High Lifter Mud Nationals has closed the books on its 11th year of fun and with one last parting event at the awards ceremony Colton Moore accepted the chance to give away a 2013 Polaris RZR XP900 SxS / UTV to one lucky winner. Austin Hopkins would be the winner of the machine and after being reached by phone he made his way up to the stage.

The fine folks at Polaris as well as the event staff for the High Lifter Mud Nationals had taken in $14,000 in donations at the park to go to the X-Games rider Caleb Moore’s family. Caleb tragically lost his life while doing what he loved to do and the Mud riders of High lifters Mud Nationals gave a little back in appreciation.
We are looking forward to next year’s craziness at the Mud Creek park and we hope maybe you will decide to check it out as well. Until 2014, ride as much as you can and be safe.
