IATVHSS Round
2 ATV Race Report - Continued

expectations, some classes have seen an increase
in riders, such as the Women’s and Utility
classes. Th Utility class boasted 20 riders at
the starting line. Kevin Wehde took the win in
the Utility class with a time of 12:55:39.34 which
was just over 7 minutes faster than second place
Ryan Barness and 8 minutes faster than Jason McCoy
who finished in third. Dusty Kostman took first
in the Women’s class with a time of 13:07:27.31
which earner her 2nd overall in the morning classes,
followed by Kim Muzzarelli in second, who earned
3rd overall, and Angela Mickelson in third. In
the A class Colby Kostman finished with an overall
time of 15:57:40.21 followed by Bob Ziebell in
second with a time of 15:58:36.08, and Brandon
Heath in third with a time of 15:59:17.51.
C 16-25 class rider, Brandon Burns took the win
in his class and the overall win for the A.M.
classes and was the only C 16-25 class racer to
complete eight laps. Chancy Tomlinson took second
behind burns and was followed by Travis Martinez
in third.
In the 40+ class, Roy Hazzard has came on strong
this season and took the win. Last season Hazzard
was consistently placing mid-pack, but has stepped
it up this year and looks as if he could possibly
take home the championship in his class this season
if he continues to stay focused. Hazzard crossed
the finish line with a time of 15:54:51.40, which
was 14 seconds ahead of second place Ron Mueller
and over 2 minutes ahead of third place, Frank Howell.
In the 50cc Stock class it was Brock Kyner who
took the win, followed by Austin McCoy and Skyler
Jungling. In the 90cc Production class, Dakota
Stevenson finished over two minutes ahead of Hunter
VanPatten, who finished second, while Travis Gromowski
took third.
Round number three of the IATVHSS will be held
at Andy’s Back Yard in Carlisle, IA on June
29th where promoters are hoping the increasing
gas prices will not stand in the way of attendance
and allow more racers to participate.
