IATVHSS Round
3 ATV Race Report - Continued
Brock Lyons didn’t fair so well at his
first IATVHSS event, as he broke down in the first
lap and was not able to get his quad running again.
As the racers crossed the finish line, Michael
was still in the lead, despite losing his rear
brakes early on, and took the AA win and the overall
with Duane in a very close 2nd. Zac Johnson secured
the final place in 3rd, while Jason Gudde finished
in 4th with six laps and Carson Coffman rounded
out the top five.

Bob Ziebel
took 1st in the ATV A class.
|
ATVA Director,
Doug Morris, raced in the 40+ ATV Class.
|
In the A class, it was Bob Ziebel who took the
win, followed by Zach Davis in 2nd and Colby Costman
in 3rd with Brandon Heath and Josh Fett finishing
off the top five. Joel Clausen took the win in
the B class. Chet Hamilton took the win in the
30+ class while Jake Stratton took home the win
for the 50+ class. In the 40+ class, Roy Hazzard
took home another win with Ron Mueller in 2nd
and William Payne in 3rd. Hunter Russell grabbed
the number four spot. ATVA Director, Doug Morris
decided to give the IATVHSS a shot over the weekend
and landed in 5th place in the 40+ class, but
Morris wasn’t the only new-comer to the
series this weekend.

Daryl Rath
of Rath Racing made his IATVHSS debut
and took 8th overall in the Morning ATV
Race
|
Daryl Rath and his son Gunther decided to make the
trek to Iowa and get in a little track time as well.
Daryl raced in the Utility class, while his son
raced in the 50cc Production class, and all though
neither of them won their classes, it didn’t
seem to matter, as Rath was quite impressed with
his experience there. “It was a very welcoming
atmosphere,” said Daryl about his first time
at the IATVHSS. “I have to give these guys
a ton of credit. They made it more of an event than
just a race. Very few people can put together an
event like that and I think other promoters could
learn a lot from Andy and what he has done here.”
The organization of the event was not the only thing that impressed Rath over
the course of the weekend. “There is so
much that really stands out about this series.
There’s the dinner that they put on the
night before the races, which is a great way for
fans to interact and get more involved; they have
a great turnout; and then there was the helicopter
rides,” he said. “They had a helicopter
there for anyone who wanted to go for a ride,
so my son and I took a helicopter ride after the
races and he was so excited. It’s being
able to take home memories like that that really
stays with you; you just can’t beat it.
If my schedule with the GNCC doesn’t conflict,
I definitely plan to race more of this series,”
Daryl concluded.
