In the Open Pro class main event, Jeremie Warnia
pulled the holeshot, followed by Doug Eichner, Couprie
Romain and Josh Frederick. Eichner was close behind
Warnia and was hoping for an opportunity to pass,
but Eichner ended up getting hung up in a rut and
stalled, dropping him back to 7th place, which allowed
Frederick and Romain to get by. “I was following
Warnia for about one lap, but then I stalled and
Romain and Frederick got by me and I wasn’t
able to make up the time,” said Eichner disappointedly.

Mike Machado put on a solid showing. Machado got
off to a mid pack start, but picked off the competition
to round out the top five. Billy Cottage (along
with Joel Hetrick, who raced in the Pro Production
class) made the trek all the way from Pennsylvania
to get some practice in before round one of the

his own against the west coast boys, taking 6th
overall. David Haagsma held on to claim 7th, while
Chris Riley landed in 8th. MCR’s Mike Cafro
was looking good as he finished in 9th while MCR
teammate, Levi Marana, rounded out the top ten.
In the 450 Production Expert class, Can-Am MotoWorks’
Dillon Zimmerman showed that he has every intension
of defending his championship this year. Dillon
came off the line in second, but took the lead
shortly into the first lap and checked out on
the competition to take the win. “Everything
went great for me this weekend. Instead of running
two classes this season, I am going to just stick
with the 450 Production Expert class so I can
concentrate on taking the championship,”
said Dillon. Garrin Fuller finished second behind
Zimmerman with Kody Evans in third and Cody Irving
in fourth while Josh Row rounded out the top five.
