#28 Romain Couprie & #97 Justin Noss
came together in a turn, with Noss getting
the worse end of the deal |
Just Noss came on strong, taking second in both
moto holeshots. Noss was looking good in the first
moto and was battling back and forth with Romain
in the first lap. Noss made the pass stick, but
in the next corner, he was t-bone hard by Romain
and Noss and his Yamaha were soon rubber side
up. The crash sent Noss back to dead last but
he wasn’t about to give up. With damage
to his bike and smoke pouring out of motor, Noss
made an incredible charge all the way back to
up to seventh place. “I wasn’t sure
if I should keep going because my bike as smoking,
but I haven’t had the best of luck this
season and I really wanted a decent finish,”
said Noss.
In moto two, Noss got his decent finish, taking
fourth place as he crossed the finish line. Noss’s
7-4 finishes allowed him to take 4th overall and
move into the top five in the points chase.

#3 Beau Baron rounds out the Top 5 on his
MCR Honda TRX 450R |
MCR’s Beau Baron was having a good weekend,
as he rode two very consistent motos in the Pro
Production class. Baron pulled off a 6-5 finish
to round out the top five. Jason Dunkleburger came
on strong in moto one taking a third place finish.
In the second moto, the Pennsylvania native took
an eighth place finish, which gave him 6th place
overall. Mike Machado took seventh place over Evan
Spooner in eighth, while Dustin Terry took ninth
overall and Can-Am Epic’s Sage Baker rounded
out the top ten. Baker’s teammate, Hunter
Miller had a tough time of things as he was plagued
with bike issues all weekend and took a 12th place
finish.

WORCS Racing 2-Time champion, Josh Frederick,
is hauled off the track after a serious
wreck, which left him with a broken leg |
Although Jeremie Warnia had a stellar race, the
same could not be said for his teammate and current
WORCS two time champion, Josh Frederick. The AMA
Motocross opening round was held at Glen Helen just
the day before the Quadcross race, which left the
track quite rough especially in one area where there
were ruts before and right after a big triple. Frederick
was unfortunate enough to catch one of those ruts
on landing and was sent flipping. Frederick was
taken to the hospital with a broken lower leg and
underwent surgery right away. It is still undetermined
how long he will be out but updates will be coming
soon.
“It’s really unfortunate that Josh
was injured. Even though Josh is one of my competitors,
he is a really great guy and I hate to see this
happen to him,” said Beau Baron, who is
right behind Frederick in the WORCS Pro points
race.
