Can-Am's Jeremie Warnia
Claims the Open Pro ATV Championship
::Continued::
In moto one of the Open Pro class, it was David
Haagsma who would take the holeshot. Haagsma was
looking impressive as he held his lead for most
of the moto, but in the final two laps, both Beau
Baron and Jason Dunkleberger were able to make
their way around him with Baron taking the win,
followed by Dunk, which left Haagsma in third
for the first moto.

In the second moto, Davi Haagsma once again took
the early lead, but it was short lived as Jeremie
Warnia would make the pass and check out for the
Moto two win, but Dunk and Baron would battle
it out again for the number two and three spots,
with Dunk going 2-2 for the overall will and Baron
going 1-3 for third.

& the #2 Plate in the Production Pro
Class |
Despite getting edged out of the Pro Production
Championship, Jeremie Warnia had no issues securing
the Open Pro Championship. Warnia took it easy in
the first moto, taking a sixth place finish, but
in moto two the Can-Am Motoworks rider put the hammer
down to take the moto win and the Open Pro Championship.
“I am a little sad that I could not win both,
but I am very happy to win the Open Pro championship
for my team,’ said Warnia, who will be making
the transition to the national circuit full time
next season but will still be hitting a few Quadcross
rounds when his schedule permits.
David Haagsma, who ran consistently all season
long, would take second in the Open Pro Championship
with 165 points. Keith Tebeau also had a successful
season and went on to finish third in the points
race. Dennis Capogni would take fourth at season’s
end with 129 points and Rafael Guzman would round
out the top five with 127 points.
Although the 2009 ITP Quadcross season has come
to an end, there will be little down time for
most racers as the west coast season does not
have much of oa break over the winter and with
the addition of the new DWT World ATV Motocross
series kicking off on December 12-13th in Mesquite,
Nevada, many racers are scrambling to get their
quads ready in order to get in that extra seat
time in hopes of improving their chances for a
championship at the 2010 Yamaha ITP Quadcross
series.
