Meanwhile, Joe Haavisto was took a comfortable
win to finish in first overall in the Open Pro-am
class. “I’m really happy with how
things went today. I still have the points lead
in both lasses and that’s what matters
in the long run,” said Haavisto.

Michael Pilotte’s consistent 3-3 put
him in the number two spot, which was something
that looked out of reach for him for a while.
“I had some issues early in the day so
I thought I might have to sit it out for the
rest of the day, but everything ended up working
                                  out,” said a relieved Pilotte.

Despite his nasty second moto crash, Richard
Pelchat hung on to claim third overall, while
fellow Canadian, Greg Gee would claim fourth
overall and Polaris’s Aaron Meyer went
4-7 to round out the top five in the Open Pro-am

on strong, going 1-1 to take the overall for the
day despite pressure from Amy Thompson in the
second moto. Angie Maher ran two strong motos
and her 3-3 finishes earned her second overall,
while Amy Thompson’s 5-2 put her in the
number three spot overall. Canadian racers Marie
Huppe and Genevieve Sarrazin would claim the number
four and five spots. Paige Whipple who can usually
be seen in the top five appeared to be having
a tough time of things this weekend finishing
                                in 11th overall.

July 19th. Now that the season has reached it’s
halfway mark, the points chase will surely heat
up and there should be plenty of action as the
                                  three returning Pro Champions, Kawasaki’s

Can-Am’s Matt Pomeroy battle for supremacy.
