Lempster, NH (7/3/2014) - The 2014 New England ATV MX Championship series stayed in the far Northeast this weekend as they headed back to one of their long-time series-staple tracks, Jolly Roger MX in Lempster, New Hampshire. The series had not attended this track since 2010 and there were a lot of changes that took place in between, namely no Intimidator rock jump. This change cut the lap times down to just about a minute and provided for fast paced racing action throughout the weekend.

The weather was in the mid-to-upper eighty degrees as the Pro racers headed to the line for their motos.

The first of two Pro motos saw Preston Young coming off the line to take a massive holeshot and lead the pack out onto the rocky course. However, Young experienced severe mechanical issues a few laps in while leading up front with a sizable lead.

Whitcher Motorsports / BCS Performance / Can-Am’s Travis Moore was hot on the heels of Young and Jayden Hickson; who were just ahead of him during the holeshot. Moore stayed true to his lines and was able to pick off Hickson on the third lap of the race and then set his sights on Young who was in the lead. Moore kept his head down and a break for the “Tennessee Tornado” came when a big plume of white smoke came from the machine of Young, signaling mechanical issues and forcing him off-track. Moore charged ahead and rode the rest of the laps in smart fashion to take the moto one win.

Elka Suspension / DWT / FLY Racing’s Moore was back out for Pro moto two, this time with a new plan as he snagged the holeshot himself and continued his charge as he crested over and into the rock laden track of Jolly Roger.

Moore pressed on for the remaining eight-lap moto and was able to secure the win, which resulted in a 1-1 set of moto finishes for him for the day.

“I started the season there with a little bit of a slump but we are back on top now and with this big three week break coming, this win gives me even more motivation to keep training and looking forward to the rest of the season. My BCS motor had it dialed today pulling three out of the four holeshots, my Elka shocks worked awesome and the DWT tires never blew out and kept me driving forward. My hats off to all of the people behind me and the support I’m receiving is just incredible, I can’t thank everyone enough,” said Moore on the podium.
