Matt
Shapaka went home with two overall wins. |
The amateur ranks offer some of the best racing throughout
the race day weekends, and this weekend was no exception.
In the Unlimited A class, Kyle Dammann would post up
two moto Holeshots to go along with his two moto wins.
Taylor Condacure would follow him across the finish
line in the first moto, but a 5th place in the second
moto would earn him a 3rd overall. Billy Cottage’s
3-4 finishes would score him a 2nd overall.
The Unlimited B class had 31 entries and was split
up into two qualifiers. Last years ATVA Production
C champ, Matt Shapaka would score a moto win along
with D6’s Drew Gilbert taking a win in the 2nd
qualifier. In the final moto, it was Shapaka out front
with an early lead while Gilbert got a bad start and
would settle in for a 4th overall. Skapa remained
unchallenged and truly earned his overall win. Samuel
Henderson of Houston, PA would post mark two third
place finishes for 2nd overall. Gregory Loucks would
round out the top three.

Kyle
Bard rebounded from some bad luck to claim 3rd
overall in the College class |
Shane Hull brought out his nearly stock Suzuki to
race in the Unlimited C class and would take home
two moto wins and the overall trophy. Adam Blackburn
would grab the 2nd place overall position with Jamen
Davidovich following up in third. Paul Ucman and Michelle
Sucui would round out the top 5 overall position.
The College class allowed riders ages from 16-29
to compete, regardless of skill level. Matt Shapaka
would jump onto a Honda for this class, but would
repeat his Unlimited B class finishes and claim another
overall win. Josh Deemer would post a 2-2 for an easy
calculated 2nd overall. Hetrick Racing’s Kyle
Bard would earn a 3rd place overall aboard his new
YFZ.
A common misconception is that the Vet 30 plus class
is toned down in speed, but Paul Gregg put in some
hard laps. Russell Walker followed up in second place
with Brian Jenkins rounding out the top three. Jesse
Mattucci and Kevin Mengel Jr. finished out the top
five.
