Charlotte, NC (9/23/2014) – The sixth and final round of the 2014 Mystic Lubricants Terracross Championships continued this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway with Jason Luburgh clinching the  Pro RZR championship with his second podium finish of the weekend. “Digger” Doug Gust showed he still knows how to win claiming his first win of the season, and Rockstar’s Colten Moore scored his first podium finish of the season.

The final round of the Terracross Championships was an interesting one that kept both racers and spectators on edge. Jason Luburgh, who had taken the points lead in round five with a third place finish despite mechanical issues last race. Luburgh’s machine was not able to be repaired and he was forced to borrow Brian Bush’s Polaris RZR who was not in attendance. Luburgh was not the only racer scrambling to find a ride for the last race as Jason Ellis and Colten Moore also needed to swap out RZRs for the final round of competition. With only a few hours between races, it didn’t allow enough time for the mechanics to make repairs, but luckily everyone was able to get a ride for the final round of the season.

2012 Terracross Pro UTV Champion, Doug Gust, earned his first win of the season at Charlotte Motor Speedway at round 6

“I’m super pumped to take the win! My Nielsen / Mystic Lubricants/Polaris RZR was running great. Colten got out front of me on the start, but he made a little mistake, and I was able to get around him. I just tried to drive smart and run a good race. It’s been a few years since I have won, and it just feels really good. I won the championship the first year, the second year I broke my collar bone, and this year I have just had some bad luck, so it feels really good to be back on top of the podium,” said Gust.
