CJ Greaves Clinches TORC Pro
Stock UTV Championship
::Continued::
In Pro Stock, Dillon Pointon led from the pole
in his Yamaha. Though he had a great jump, CJ
Greaves had a mastery of the many lines on the
track and was charging. He took third from Zach
Martin on lap two and moved into second two laps
later. He battled past Pointon just before the
lap six competition caution and held on to remain
unbeaten in Pro Stock this season. Pointon finished
second, ahead of Jake Lunderby. Martin and Scott
Wasz completed the top five. All five were driving
Yamahas.

Greaves has been virtually unstoppable in Pro
Stock this season. With the stock cars so close
in competitiveness, Greaves has had to use his
instincts to keep his streak alive.

Yamaha's
CJ Greaves charged his way into the lead
just before the competition caution &
held on to claim his 11th straight win
for the TORC Pro Stock UTV Championship
|
“We did not have the fastest car out there today,
but we put it where it needed to be and made the
passes when we could make them work,” said CJ
Greaves. “It just came down to not making big
mistakes. There were a couple of diverse lines
out there that allow you run differently the whole
time. We found the line that was a little bit
better. We did what we had to do.”
Pointon has come on strong in the last five races
and has led several laps, despite being a series
rookie. Bad luck slowed him previously, but on
this day, he stayed with Greaves to the end waiting
for a mistake that never materialized.

Dillon Pointon
started on the front row & he held
the lead till nearly the competition caution
|
“CJ just had a little more in the tank than I
did,” said Pointon. “Overall, my car is dialed
in and Weller Racing has thing hooked up. I think
we may have had a little something for CJ at the
end. I learned a lot from him today. I always
like driving behind him and learning his lines.
It’s been a fun season racing with these pro guys
in our rookie season.”

Dillon Pointon
held on to claim the 2nd spot on the podium
|
Lunderby started second, but faded early. Once
he got a handle on the track, he was back in the
race and he rebounded, passing Martin late in
the race to finish third, marking his fourth consecutive
podium.
|
Yamalube's
Jake Lunderby charged past Zach Martin
to secure the final spot on the TORC Pro
Stock UTV Podium
|
“We started on the front row, and I struggled
with the track early on,” said Lunderby. “I got
passed by CJ and Zach Martin, but then I figured
a few things out on the track and was able to
get back up to third. Martin and battled for a
little bit then I was able to get away. It’s good
to be back. We’re staying consistent and we have
to keep doing that.”
Friday’s race was part of a tripleheader weekend
at ERX. The final two rounds will be held Saturday
and Sunday.
