WORCS Racing - Round
4 - Cahuilla Creek MX - Pro ATV Race Report
Can-Am's Josh Frederick Takes
First Win, Beau Baron & Jeremie Warnia Podium
Anza, CA - After a tough start
to the season, Can-Am/Motoworks’ Josh Frederick
took his first win of the year at round four of
the 2011 WORCS series after a tough battle with
teammate, Jeremie Warnia, who would join him on
the podium in third, while MCR/Maxxis Tire’s
Beau Baron charged hard to claim a solid second.
Cahuilla Creek in Anza, CA was the hosting facility
for this Easter weekend WORCS race, which attracted
a large crowd of racers over the holiday weekend,
and the kids were treated to an Easter egg hunt
on Saturday evening with plenty of candy and prizes
up for grabs for the youngster.

Round
4 of the WORCS Racing Season was held on
Easter Weekend, so in the spirit of the
holiday, an Easter egg hunt was held Saturday
evening for the kids with tons of candy
and prizes given away to the kids |
Clouds rolled in over the track Saturday evening,
and racers were greeted to a morning drizzle on
Sunday, which was exactly what the track needed
in the off-road sections to help keep down the
dust. By race time, the clouds began to break
up, and the sun would peak out from time to time,
and with mild temperatures, it was a perfect day
racing.
The Cahuilla Creek course layout was one of the
longest of the season with a huge motocross section
along with several miles of off-road, which included
a pro rock section, which was littered with huge
boulders for the racers to climb over and maneuver
around, which took its toll on several races,
but Josh Frederick was up to the challenging track
as charged his way to the front.

Motul's
Josh Frederick got off to a 4th place start
battling with Beau Baron & Dustin Nelson
with Jeremie Warnia out front with the lead |
Can-Am/Motoworks’ Josh Frederick was fourth
off the start and charged hard as he made his
way around Dustin Nelson to move into the number
three spot right behind Beau Baron. In lap five,
Frederick took over the lead after getting around
both Baron and Jeremie Warnia when they stopped
to pit.
Once in the lead, Frederick put down the hammer
in hopes of gaining enough time on Warnia that
he could maintain the lead when he would need
to pit for fuel. Unfortunately, Frederick was
just about a second too slow because Warnia regained
the lead just as Frederick was leaving the pits,
which had the pair nose to tail heading onto the
motocross track.

Once
again, the battle for the lead between #1
Josh Frederick & #62 Jeremie Warnia
was intense as the pair swapped the lead
back and forth, but this time, it was Josh
Frederick out front at the finish line

flag for his first win of the season |
Frederick kept the pressure on Warnia, which
lead to Warnia making a mistake, and Frederick
was able to regain the lead in the final lap of
the race. Frederick crossed the finish line with
his first win of the season, which allowed him
to close the gap on points leader Warnia to just
five points.
“It feels really good to finally get in
a win. I’ve been working really hard and
I am really happy to be able to make it happen.
It’s been tough this year because everyone
has really stepped it up. We made a few changes
to our suspension this morning and it worked amazingly.
I just want to keep moving forward from here and
hopefully take a few more wins,” said Frederick.
