WORCS Racing - Round
3 - Crazy Horse GP - Pro ATV Race Report
::Continued::

Spark Racing's #549 Beau Baron held the
early lead for several laps before having
a get off, which sent him to the back of
the pack, but amazingly, he charged his
way back to a 4th place finish |
Maxxis/H&M Motorsports’ Beau Baron got
a good start, coming off the line in third. Baron
wasted no time charging his way into the lead early
in the first lap. Baron began to pull a good lead
and was laying down some fast lap times, but in
the sixth lap, Baron crashed and fell to the back
of the pack.
Baron was fortunate enough to be able to keep
racing and made a hard charge in the final laps.
Baron worked back up to fourth place and was closing
in on Dillon Zimmerman, but ran out of time before
he could get close enough to make a move, putting
him in fourth place for the day. Despite his bad
luck, Baron is still holding down second place
in points.

EXIT's #8 Robbie Mitchell secured a season
best Top 5 finish |
Robbie Mitchell was looking strong off the start
and he followed Beau Baron off the line. Mitchell
quickly worked his way into the second spot behind
Baron. Mitchell stayed close o Baron and when Baron
went down in lap six, Mitchell was able to take
over the lead. “I got out front and then my
quad started acting up and I fell back,” said
Mitchell, who hung on to round out the top five
in the pro class.
Yamaha/Golden West Cycle’s Dustin Nelson
was in second off the start behind Mike Cafro.
Nelson, who is a fierce competitor was going for
a pass in the third turn and apparently clipped
one of Cafro’s tires, which sent Nelson
and his quad flipping. Nelson then fell to the
back of the pack, but kept racing. Nelson was
eventually able to make it back up to sixth place
before crossing the finish line.

#10 Mike Cafro claimed the ATVRiders.com
Holeshot Award |
Mike Cafro was the first racer off the start as
he grabbed the holeshot, but Cafro’s lead
was short lived as he headed into this round of
racing recovering from the flu, which took the wind
out of his sail as he managed to hold onto a seventh
place finish.
Dustin Clark came up from the back of the pack
for an eight place finish, while Yamaha/Golden
West Cycle’s Josh Row encountered issues
and would only finish 13 laps for a ninth place
finish and Kyle Grosse, who also completed thirteen
laps, rounded out the top ten.
In the Pro-am class, Duncan Racing’s Garrin
Fuller ran away with the win. Fuller took over
the lead in the first lap and never looked back
as he ran away with the win for his second win
of the season and moving into third in the points
chase. #1p Keith Johnson grabbed the Holeshot,
and he rode a solid and consistent race as he
held down the number two spot all the way to the
podium. Mike Sloan would take the final spot on
the pro-am podium. Collins Webster claimed a fourth
place finish after encountering issues and Cody
Mitchell rounded out the top five in the Pro-am
class.
