Maxxis Tire’s H&M Motorsports’
David Haagsma was hot on Baron’s heels off
the start in the number two spot. Haagsma stayed
close to Baron for the first couple of laps but
fell back a bit.

DWT's #422 David Haagsma held on to secure
the 2nd spot on the Podium |
Haagsma was unchallenged early on in the race, but
it didn’t take long for Can-Am’s Josh
Frederick to charge his way through the pack and
beginning applying the pressure to Haagsma. The
pair battled back and forth several times before
Frederick would run out of fuel. From there it was
pretty much smooth sailing for Haagsma as he cruised
to a second place finish.
“I had a great start right behind Beau
and then Josh started running me down. We battled
back and forth a few times but I got back in second
and put in some hard laps and I’m happy
to be on the podium,” said Haagsma.
Yamaha/Goldenwest Cycle’s Dustin Nelson
got off to a mid-pack start and was holding down
seventh place for the first half of the race.
At the midway point Nelson had worked his way
up to fifth and was in a three way battle for
third with his teammate, Josh Row, and Dillon
Zimmerman, but Nelson came out ahead in that battle
and charged his way to the podium, despite a dunk
in the lagoon after his quad stalled and he came
up short, which slowed down his charge, but he
was able to maintain his podium finish. This was
Nelson’s second podium finish of the season
and now has him in sixth in points.

Yamaha's
#94 Dustin Nelson charged his way through
the dust & mud to secure a Podium finish
at Racetown 395 |
“It was hot and rough out there. All the
mud and dust had my bike engine light on for most
of the race, but my Yamaha performed great, and
I’m really happy to be on the podium,”
said Nelson.
