Yamaha's #417 Josh Row held the 3rd spot
early on with Frederick in chase over the
lagoon jump |
Yamaha/Goldenwest Cycle’s Josh Row got his
best finish of the season as he charged his way
into the number four spot. Row had a good start
and was running in the number three spot in the
second lap until Josh Frederick made the pass.
Row did encounter some issues as his camel pack
stopped working and he had to stop for water every
few laps. Row stayed strong and then battled it
out with Dustin Nelson and Dillon Zimmerman and
came out in the number four spot. Row’s
solid finish also has him rounding out the top
five in series points.
Can-Am/Motoworks’ Dillon Zimmerman was
battling the dust for a good part of the race,
but he was not going to give up without a fight.
“There wasn’t a lot of options to
pass, it was either too dusty to see or it was
too wet. I did the best I could and I had a decent
finish,” said Zimmerman, who rounded out
the top five.

#49 Dillon Zimmerman secured a Top 5 finish |

Shock's #8 Robbie Mitchell finished in 6th
after some heated battles |
LMR’s Robbie Mitchell was running strong
in the top five, but the heat got the best of
him and he began to fade at the mid-way point.
Mitchell did hang on for a sixth place finish.
Pro ATV Store’s Mike Cafro stayed consistent
and held on for a seventh place finish, while
Kyle Grosse hung on for eighth.
Can-Am/Motoworks’ Josh Frederick was looking
good as he charged off the start and caught up
to David Haagsma, who was running in second. Frederick
and Haagsma battled back and forth with Frederick
taking over second place.
“I was eating his dust for a good part of
the race and I knew I just had to get around him,
so I just put the hammer down,” said Frederick.

FOX's
#2 Josh Frederick launches over the big
step-up |
Unfortunately, Frederick’s kill switch
came out, after he took over second, and he stalled
his quad, allowing Haagsma to take back second
place. Frederick got his quad to restart and got
back into second, but in the very next lap, just
a half mile from the pits, Frederick ran out of
gas.

Josh
Frederick ran out of gas, so he had to run
back to the pits to grab a quick fill of
fuel and run back to his quad, and thankfully,
Rick Ellsworth, offered Frederick a ride
to his quad, which was true sportsmanship |
Frederick had to run back to the pits for fuel,
and despite his best efforts, he was only able
to finish in ninth place for this round. “It
was so hot, the fuel was just boiling out and
I just didn’t make it back to the pits in
time,” Frederick stated.
