WORCS Racing - Round
6 - On The Edge - Pro ATV Race Report
::Continued::
In the Pro-am class, Patrick McGuire showed everyone
why he is the current GNCC Pro-am points leader.
McGuire got a good start and by the second lap,
he was pressuring Garrin Fuller for the lead.
McGuire took advantage of his GNCC experience
and took over the lead in lap three and held it
all the way to the checkered flag. McGuire was
the only Pro-am racer to do 13 laps and and finished
in an impressive fifth overall.

Cycle's #591 Pat McGuire put on an impressive
show in the Pro-Am race as he finished 5th
overall for the class win, and he was right
at home on the MX track |
“It was a faster track than what we usually
run in GNCC, but it was a lot of fun and everything
worked out pretty well,” said McGuire, who
also won the Production A class on Saturday.
Despite his best efforts, Garrin Fuller was unable
to close back in on McGuire and finished in a
solid second place. “It was tough out there
and I’m just glad to have finished,”
said Fuller.
Collins Webster hung on for a third place finish
despite the tough track. “It was definitely
different but I did the best I could out there,”
said Webster.

In the Side-by-Side classes, Beau Baron took
his first 1000 Production win of the season. “We
made a few changes and put the radiator in a new
location and added a bigger fan,” said Baron,
who had been having issues with his UTV overheating
in previous round. “It was definitely a
challenge with the water crossings, but we still
took the win by over a minute and a half,”
said Baron, who is now only one point off of second
place.
Ryan Piplic was out front early after connecting
with points leader RJ Anderson, but Piplic could
not hold off Baron and settled for a second place
finish, which, combined with Anderson’s
DNF, allowed Piplic to take over the points lead.
Greg Row came from a tenth place start and charged
his way into the number three position before
reaching the checkered flag, giving him the final
spot on the 1000 Production podium.
The 2012 WORCS series will be taking a short
summer break before picking up again in August.
Round seven of the series will head to Cahuilla
Creek MX in Anza, CA on August 3rd – 5th
where the points battles will be heating up with
only two rounds left in the season.
