“I finally got rid of my bad luck and pulled off third today. The track was so rough; it was so gnarly by the end, I was just really tired.  My Can-Am was prepared perfectly, I just need to get myself in better shape and really prepare for the next race,” regarded Zimmerman after the race.

Yamaha’s Dustin Nelson claimed the fourth spot for the day. Nelson got a good start and came around the first turn in third position. He quickly moved into second as the pack headed down the track. He dropped to fourth by the end of the first lap and remained there until the finish.

“I have to give my Yamaha praise for making it to the end. There were a lot of guys parked along the track out there. I wrecked once, but was able to maintain my position. I am thankful for that. Hopefully I’ll podium at Taft in a few weeks,” said Nelson of his spill midway through the race.

Nelson's rear tire jumped a berm as he was railing through a corner and sent him flying. Luckily the soft sand served as a good landing as he was able to get rolling again with no issues.
