WORCS Racing ATV Race Report
::Continued::
Sparks Engine’s Josh Row put in a good run and rounded out the top five in the Pro ATV class. This was the first time this season that Row has finished off of the podium. “The course was so high speed that it was tough to gain time and even tougher to pass anyone. Luckily my Maxxis tires hooked up well and I was still able to finish in the top five,” said Row.

Duncan Racing’s Garrin Fuller was second off the start behind Robbie Mitchell and quickly found a good line to make the pass for the lead, but his lead would not last long as he lost his rear brakes in the logs section and fell back.

Garrin Fuller
held the lead for the first time in his
pro career early on, but would fall back
to seventh after his rear brakes went
out & he stalled it in the logs

“Robbie got the holeshot and I saw a line and I just took it. I led the first two laps and then my rear brakes went out. I came into the log section a little hot and stalled it. It took about 30 to 40 kicks to get my quad started again and I was pretty winded after that, so it was hard to catch back up,” said Fuller, who claimed seventh place.

Mike Sloan grabbed the Pro-Am Holeshot & earned his 3rd win of the season

In the Pro-am ranks, STI’s Mike Sloan took his third win of the season; extending his points lead over the competition. Ryan Waldo claimed his best finish of the season with a strong second place, finishing about a minute behind Sloan. Despite a spin out late in the race, Alex Ortiz was still able to keep it together and claim the final spot on the WORCS Pro-am podium in third.

The WORCS series will be taking at least a two month break before round six is scheduled for July 11-13th at Pala Raceway, which is currently closed, so the WORCS Series will decide this week if it will move the race to another location or cancel the round, so stayed tuned for updates on when WORCS racing will resume for the final half of the 2014 season.
