WORCS Racing - Lake Havasu ATV Race Report
::Continued::

Without a starting gate, it is always a dead engine start at Lake Havasu, and Robbie Mitchell grabbed the holeshot, and he was followed closely by David Haagsma and a fierce battle began. “My Maxxis Tires hooked up and I was second off the line, and I got blasted with rocks. I had a couple chances to pass, but Robbie was riding really good. I almost wadded myself up on a table top when I jumped next to him and landed off the side of the jump. I thought my race was over,” said Haagsma.

Luckily, Haagsma was able to come out of the mishap. Haagsma kept charging and soon made the pass on Mitchell. “I was finally able to get by on an inside turn and was able to pull off the win,” said Haagsma who claimed his first win of the season, and his win moved Haagsma within two points of Beau Baron in the WORCS Pro ATV championship race

LMR Racing’s Robbie Mitchell, who has been a busy man since the last round with him getting married to BreAnn on March 7th, which was exciting news for the great couple, but Mitchell was ready for the brutal Lake Havasu race, and he got off to a great start by grabbing the holeshot “My engine fired right up and I got the holeshot. David and I were really battling and when we came into the second lap and we hit that table top, I thought he was going to die when he landed half way off the jump. I had to look back and make sure he was ok,” said Mitchell.

Mitchell held off Haagsma for a little while longer before Haagsma got by. Despite falling back to second, Mitchell stayed close and claimed a solid second place finish. “This is my fourth straight podium finish and I am really happy with that. I didn’t get to train as much as I wanted for this round, but it all worked out for me,” said Mitchell.

Duncan Racing’s Garrin Fuller put in a strong effort and earned his first ever Pro podium finish. “My Duncan engine got me off to a great start and Doug Roll hooked me up with my Elka suspension and it worked great out there, even in the waist high whoops,” said Fuller.

Fuller battled with Mitchell and Haagsma for the first three laps and tried to make a move on Haagsma for the number two spot. “I showed him a wheel, but he wasn’t going to budge. I just tried to stay close and I finished on the podium. It’s been a long time coming and I couldn’t be happier,” said Fuller, who had his own private cheering section out on the sand bar.
