WORCS Racing - Lake Havasu
ATV Race Report
::Continued::
Maxxis/H&M Motorsports’ Beau Baron was determined
not to lose his points lead, so he Baron raced
with one-handed for Sunday’s Pro ATV race. “I
tried to salvage points today. I took off in dead
last and as long as I didn’t bottom out, it wasn’t
too bad. Luck was on my side and a few guys broke
and I finished in fourth, which I am very happy
about considering what happened,” said Baron,
who is unsure if he will be able to compete at
Sand Hollow next month, but atleast he salvaged
the points lead heading into the next round.

Pro Motorsports’ Jeff Hancock, who didn’t get
a chance to practice, was a little unsure when
he came to the lagoon jump so he gave it his all
and flat landed the jump and jammed his wrist
in the process. “The first time I hit the jump
I hit it as hard as I could, the next time I tried
it a gear lower and flat landed. I gave up after
that and just went around,” said Hancock.

Motorsports' Jeff Hancock rounded out the
top five |
Despite the tough conditions and taking the long
way around the lagoon, Hancock rounded out the
top five in the Pro class. “It was rough out here
ten years ago when I was racing and it’s still
just as rough now, so I am just glad I finished,”
said Hancock.
In the Pro-am class, Duncan Racing’s Mike Sloan
continued to dominate, clinching his fourth straight
win of the season. Sloan shot of the start and
grabbed the holeshot. Sloan increased his lead
with every lap and held the lead from start to
finish. “My Duncan Racing motor started first
kick and led with consistent laps. My STI tires
hooked up great out there and kept me in the lead.
It feels really good to take this win and see
all of my hard work pay off,” said Sloan.
