WORCS UTV / SxS Racing Round 6 Race Report
::Continued::

“I had a great start and led for about a half a lap but then RJ came out of nowhere and got around me. I had about two laps left and I felt my belt slipping so I had to back off a bit and then Beau caught up to me. He stayed behind me so I finished on the podium. As long as I finish on the podium for the rest of the season I will be able to extend my points lead and that makes me happy,” said Piplic.

Ryan Piplic WORCS Racing
FOX's Ryan Piplic is now 21 points ahead of reigning champion, Beau Baron, in third place, but he is his closest competitor with Anderson missing the next round in Washington

Beau Baron didn’t get the start he was hoping for and was stuck behind some other drivers, and he wasn’t able to make a move, which had him finishing in the fourth spot and third in the points race with 97 points.

“I got stuck behind David (Haagsma) and then I caught up to Ryan (Piplic) and I got stuck behind him. I used all of my tear offs and had a tough time seeing and I ended up fourth in time,” said Baron.

David Haagsma WORCS Racing
Maxxis' David Haagsma was in the running for a podium finish when his belt broke, which sent him back to a 9th place finish, which has him currently just 2 points behind Beau Baron in the points race

Matt Hancock had a mid-pack start and was looking good as he drove a solid race to round out the top five in the Pro SxS class. “I had a decent start and I just tried to race my own race. My Elka shocks worked great out there and my Maxxis tires really hooked up in the mud. I am really happy with finishing fifth. It helped a lot in points so I am just going to try to keep improving,” said Hancock.
