Race Report

Maxxis’ Beau Baron said the course was fun and
he’s looking forward to the championship coming
down to the wire. “I was just behind David (Haagsma),
but I got blasted in the face, I stalled my bike
and, once I got it restarted, I just couldn’t
make up the time,” said Baron. “Once I got some
clean air in second, I had a lot of fun riding
this course today. I lost some points this weekend,
which is tough. David is getting really good at
this and the last two races are going to be tough.”

Maxxis'
Beau Baron finished in the second spot,
which now has him 10 points behind David
Haagsma heading into the final two rounds |
Mitchell was pleased with his third-place finish.
“I struggled,” admitted Mitchell. “For the most
part, the lappers were really good at getting
out of the way. But a lapped bike took the good
line in the Enduro cross section and I didn’t
want to risk it, so I slowed up and David took
the lead. I’m really happy right now. I felt good
at the end. I felt like I could have gone another
hour, so I’m ready for the next one.”

the Podium |
Duncan Racing’s Garrin Fuller returned from a
three-month break to heal a shoulder injury. Fuller
wasn’t a fan of the trees here and rebounded from
hitting one of the many pines surrounding the
course to finish fourth.

Duncan
Racing's Garrin Fuller claimed the 4th spot
in his first race since Sand Hollow in April |
“My shoulder feels a lot better. It’s not really
affecting my riding; I’m just trying to get a
little more endurance out of it,” said Fuller.
“On the first lap, I got caught in David (Haagsma’s)
dust, got off course, hit a tree and rolled down
the mountain. I put my head down and came away
with fourth. It just shows that you never give
up. The Duncan Motor was fresh for this race and
we had brand new shocks from Elka. I don’t like
trees. The only thing I can come away with is
that I didn’t hit a tree…more than once!”
H&M Motorsports’ Collins Webster, too, had
his own love affair going with the local foliage.
“I look forward to coming to this race, but I
felt like I was dating some of the trees out there
today,” said Webster. “I spent a few times in
trees and that didn’t really work out. This is
not where I wanted to be, but I’ll take it going
into Glen Helen.”
