Mike
Sloan & Robbie Mitchell had an intense
battle for the final spot on the podium
till the final lap when Sloan suffered a
mechanical issue |
“It’s been a little too long since I’ve been
on the podium and it’s good to be back up here,”
said Mitchell. “I came out of the gate a little
slow, but the bike ran well at first then it started
stumbling. The only lap it ran well was the second
to last. Mike was riding well today. I just tried
to reel him in the dust then something happened
to him in the end. I finally had a good race with
family watching. We’re going to get the bikes
where I really want them and we’ll come out swinging
at the last two races.”

Robbie
Mitchell is currently 2nd place in points,
30 points behind Baron & 6 points ahead
of Sloan, heading into the final 2 rounds
of racing |
Duncan Racing’s Garrin Fuller battled dust, as
well as stuck shifter to finish fourth. “I stuck
with them as long as I could, but I was getting
off track and hitting bushes so I backed off a
little bit,” said Fuller. “Then I came into the
pits and a rock got stuck between my shifter and
the frame. The transmission was stuck in neutral
then I kicked it into third and I had to kick
it to get it loose. It was just a fluke thing.”

ELKA's
Garrin Fuller finished in the 4th spot at
the Iron Mine WORCS |
Pro Motorsports’ Matt Hancock recorded his third
consecutive top-five finish. He said he had trouble
focusing during the race. “I just wasn’t there
mentally,” explained Hancock. “The bike was great,
but I just couldn’t focus today. I didn’t get
the greatest start. I started off in the back
in the dust. I made it through it, and I’ll get
my head better during the summer break.”
