Los Olivos, CA - Doug Eichner secured
his first win in the 2007 WORCS Series and made history
by giving Polaris its first Factory Pro win on the all
new Outlaw 525. This historical moment took place at Zaca
Station in Los Olivos, California, which represented round
five of the ten round 2007 WORCS Rock Mountain ATV Series
presented by Motoworks.
For Zaca Station, it was the first time a national
ATV event was held at this southern California facility,
which proved to be a beautiful facility with oak trees
scattered across the dry grassy hillsides. The track
had a great mixture of terrain despite its and extremely
strict sound policy, very restrictive off-track riding,
and banned use of tear-offs. The abundance of restriction
provided culture shock to many, but it wasn’t
enough to keep them from coming out in force to tackle
the new race location.
Epic Racing’s Josh Frederick headed to Zaca Station
with 4 consecutive wins as he has dominated the start
of the 2007 season with teammate #114 Jeremy Schell
giving him a run for his money, but for the reigning
champion, Doug Eichner, it has been season of misfortune
with numerous incidents costing him the chance at claiming
his first win of the season.

The start of the Pro Main, had Jeremy Schell snagging
his first Holeshot of the year and the $100 ATVriders.com
Holeshot Award followed by Dustin Terry, Doug Eichner,
and Mike Cafro Unfortunately for Josh Frederick, he
tangled with Tim Shelman at the start, which left the
pair struggling to get this quads separated. “I'm
not sure what happened, I've never really been a good
starter and today was no different, I just got caught
up and had to work my way up front all day,” said
Frederick.
John Shafe was also off to a rough start when he struck
from the behind heading into the second turn, which
sent him off the track and to the back of the pack.
He quickly recovered and began charging through the
pack only to high center a berm and stall his Honda,
which left him sidelined again for an extended period
of time all before the end of the first lap.

#114
Jeremy Schell all by himself after the first lap |
Out front, it was Jeremy Schell pulling an 8 second
lead over Doug Eichner in the second spot followed by
Dustin Terry. It initially appeared that Schell was
going to run away with the win before Eichner finally
closed the gap in lap three when Schell received a front
flat tire. Schell ignored the flat tire because of his
Tireballs, and was going to try and ride it out for
another lap as he was passed by Eichner for the lead,
and shortly afterwards, Frederick charged his way into
second place.
