The weekend did not begin on a high note either for
John Natalie who won Round 1 and held the points lead
going into the event. Natalie suffered a hard crash
during Friday practice in the whoops section. On Friday,
it looked as if Natalie would sit the weekend out as
the doctors found tore muscles in his chest and also
injuries to his knee and ankle. But "The Ironman"
had different plans and decided to roll the track to
salvage as many points as possible. By Sundays Main,
Natalie had decided to ride past his pain in the Main
Event and showed a great effort, finishing 15th overall.

Racing's Scott Kilby lead the charge through
the Whoops as he grabbed the Holeshot in the
Quad Terrain Challenge |
The competition and tension remains intense in the QuadTerrian
Challenge after multiple penalties applied after Round
One to both CanAm and Arctic Cat Racers, which continued
into Round 2. This time Scott Kilby easily was able
to ride his Can Am to victory in the Pro Stock Main
Event without any pending penalties, leading all eight
laps of the main event. Fellow Can Am rider Adam Vaughn
brought home the number two spot, but it was later announced
he failed post-race technical inspection and was disqualified.
Arctic Cat’s Rory Beckman claimed Vaughn second
place finish followed by Brady Foster claiming the final
Podium spot. Daryl Rath finished in 4th place, and was
later fined for unjustifiable risk for on-track, so
based on the penalties and fines incurred during the
first two rounds, the outcome of the upcoming double-header
should be extremely interesting.

The Pro Super Sport class hosted more riders this
weekend with entries up from two to five. Alba Action
Sport's Michael Kneebush was able to hold off the
hard charging HMF's Luenger Hans as they paired bounced
off each other several times over the weekend in some
fierce racing action. Lonestar Racing’s Skyler
Stewart claimed the final podium spot. Daryl Rath
built a radical machine based on the Powler Chasis,
but the axles didn’t arrive in time for the
event, so they attempted to fabricate axles, which
weren’t able to hold up to the abuse. Hopefully,
by Round 3, the Arctic Cat Powler will be finished
and prepared to wage battle against the other top
notch machines.
