The last model on our list was the one most did not even bother to get excited about. Hey, its half the CC size, has bug eyed looking headlights and most would feel it is a beginners machine. I admit, I felt that way as well. I mean come on, you have a 1000cc and 700cc machine to play on, so why on earth would you get excited about the little Arctic Cat 366. Well, after having a few months with it here, I can say that it is the machine that has gotten the most seat time out of the three! It is small (compared to its brooding big brothers) its not a power house (compared to its macho brethren) and its ugly (the kind of ugly that grows on you)

Ok, so it’s not a 90, I have no problem riding it so the size thing may have just been said to appease the Thundercat crowd. It has more then enough power to get me around the farm in comfort and I can zip in and out of places that would have the big guys reaching for reverse. Everything I need in a basic get it done 4x4 equipped sub 400cc machine is there, and its beauty is in its simplicity.

It’s actually quite fun to ride around and go exploring due to its nimbleness and you can squeeze into areas that would have fenders hollerin’ for help on bigger machines. I’ve used it to haul me and my camera gear around at the races, to fetch garden supplies from the shed and it hasn’t failed to start or get me out of anything I’ve been able to get into. This is one of the best quads in its class i’ve had the pleasure to use and I will hate to see it go when it’s called home!

Body paneling on the Arctic Cat 366 hide the engine, but the engine is still easy to access because the panels can be removed without any tools for maintenance

Heck, I even like the fact it has the engine blocked off with formed panels that keep me from feeling the heat off the engine! You won’t get any of your buddy’s jaws to drop if you ride up on this model, but that isn’t what this one is all about. Function it has, and for people starting out or just looking for an ATV that doesn’t break the bank, don’t overlook this little rascal. It makes a killer pit quad for all you racers as well!

The Arctic Cat 366 features 7" of Wheel Travel and the suspension works great at soaking up small jumps and obstacles along the trail. Also, the 10" of ground clearance with independent rear suspension allows for great maneuverability over obstacles

Now I don’t go into detail on the reviews they give me about specs and what not, I prefer to ride them. I will however tell you that changing the oil and routine service work is fairly easy on all three models, although with all utility models it can be quite the job removing fenders for extensive work or cleaning (you do clean your ride at least once in awhile right?)

Arctic Cat may be one of the smallest ATV manufacturers in the industry, but this is also a positive as they are quickly able to adapt to changing demand, which is evident with the release of these three new models, and now for 2009, Arctic Cat has announced 10 more new models, which we just had the opportunity to ride in the Bad Lands of South Dakota, so check back for a review on the new Thundercat Cruiser and TRV models along with the all the new Prowler 1000 XTZ , 550 flat bed, and more..
