2009 Arctic Cat Mud Pro 700 H1 EFI Utility ATV Test Ride Review
2009 Arctic Cat Mud Pro 700 H1 EFI Utility ATV Test Ride Review
::Continued::

We were so impressed with the Mud Pro’s capabilities in a competition environment that we decided to stick around and take the Mud Pro for a spin out on the trails later in the day and see how it performed in everyday conditions. We took the Mud Pro through some mud and swamps all the way up to the fenders and only got it stuck one time (luckily, the Mud Pro comes with a winch).

The Mud Pro is equipped with a 3000 lb winch with the controls conveniently within thumbs reach since they are mounted on the handlebars

On the trails, the ride was a little bumpy due to the knobby tires, which are not really intended for dirt. The top speed of about 50 MPH isn’t very fast for a 700 class ATV due to the special 4.0:1 gearing for bottom end torque, but with all that torque, the Mud Pro sure can wheelie, which was something we really had a lot of fun with. Keeping in mind that the Mud Pro is a machine that is specifically built for mud, we were still pretty impressed with it out on the trails. The handling was good and the machine was very comfortable.

The Mud Pro was a blast in the swamp, and I couldn't help but to smile ear to ear as I blasted through mud hole after mud hole, and I was amazed at how well the Mud Pro performed in situations that I surely thought that I was going to get stuck

The Arctic Cat Mud Pro is priced right at $9,529, which is only $1,400 more than the standard 700 H1, and considering Arctic Cat claims that it would cost $5,000 for all the upgrades, it is a real bargain for those who like playing in the mud
Overall, we had a great time at Arctic Cat’s press intro and getting the opportunity to test out the 700 H1 EFI Mud Pro in the environment it was designed for was an incredible experience. We were very impressed with just about every aspect of this machine that is capable of handling massive amounts of mud and water that would be just too much for any other stock machine. Arctic Cat has done their homework and has built a genuine mud machine that is designed with the mud enthusiast in mind because with the specialized parts and design of the Mud Pro, the consumer will save quite a bit of money that they would normally have to put into modifications of any other type of utility ATV to bring it to the level of the Arctic Cat 700 H1 EFI Mud Pro.
