| This
year all the 2010 Can-Am Outlander ATVs get
the updated fascia, which allows for more airflow
to the radiator and better cooling |
An increase in horsepower isn’t the only update,
as the new front fascia now has now found its way
to all Outlander models. And for those looking for
something with a little less power and a lot less
cost, the Outlander MAX LTD 500 is worthy of a look.
Both the 800 and 500 MAX LTD models stand as the line
up’s shining stars when it comes to appearance
and will undoubtedly be the cause of many an undecided
look at the dealership as one makes their choice.
One thing we did notice while looking over the specs
of the new Can Am’s is the fact that there is
a loss of fuel capacity over the 2009 model line up.
The cause for this has been attributed to a new manufacturing
requirement resulting in a thicker tank and less capacity.
This shouldn’t be a huge issue as the Can Am
models all are pretty fuel savvy however for those
that finds themselves racing or on extended rides,
you might think about packing along some extra fuel
or making an extra pit stop during the race.

first Can-Am Renegade 1/2" Front Sway Bar |
Speaking of race inspired engineering, the new sway
bar found on the Renegade was really getting some attention.
This front sway bar was first tested on the Can Am GNCC
team machines and has received positive feedback from
their riders and now it is standard equipment on the
Renegade 800R X-XC model. This is exactly what we would
expect to see from a company dedicated to its racing
program and bringing that experience to its models for
trail hounds or weekend warriors who can benefit from
it! I had the chance to see how much of a difference
this small piece of hardware made and was happy to feel
a lot less roll in the machine, a big benefit when speeds
are up and corners are tackled.

2010 Can-Am industry-exclusive Next G-1 Vista™
pattern by Next Camo has been designed for ultra-realistic
3D look & appeal |
While we didn’t get to spend as much time aboard
the new models as we would have liked, the time we did
spend riding found us in agreement that the new offerings
will find their place among the top sellers in the market.
Can Am has taken bold approaches to not just marketing,
but to making each model work as well as it can while
remaining functional for its intended use. Outdoorsman
and hunters will love the new camo pattern offered on
the 500,650 and 800 R line and has the industry exclusive
name of Next G-1 Vista. Yeah, it’s a mouthful
but it looks pretty good!
We look forward to receiving a few models from the
new line up in for long term testing and evaluation
soon, so check back to see what kind of things we
can find to put these models to the test!
